Etsy…Should I or Shouldn’t I?

So this year instead of working full time as an instructional assistant at a preschool, I’m subbing at the same school. I’m also still baby-sitting, working a couple shifts at my dad’s store and working with a young man who has Down Syndrome, but I have a much more flexible schedule. I figured doing this would free up a lot of my time to start packing for a new house, and then fixing up our new house. It will also be a great plus for when the hubby and I get a puppy, but that’s another story for another day.

I’ve been thinking a lot about trying my hand at Etsy, but what with having half our stuff in boxes and nowhere near enough room for arts and crafts, it’s been hard to actually decide to open up a shop. Instead, I’ve been doing a lot of exploring and research so that once we get a house and are settled in I’ll hopefully have all the tools I need to get serious about Etsy. I have some ideas for things I can make, but now I have realized that someone already has my Grace and Flowers name. How dare they!! Now I have to come up with a new name to use as my Etsy shop name, and it won’t match this wonderful blog of mine. What’s a girl to do??

Meanwhile, everyone keep their fingers crossed that our inspection (which was moved to Monday) goes well! If it does, it’s likely we’ll be in our house December 7th and then I’ll be ready to get started on this Etsy project!

It’s a real shame about the name being taken. I had the same problem when I first started up my business. I couldn’t get “Coach Mi” in facebook or twitter. Someone had beaten me to it! So had to use variations.

Go for it! I’ve been selling on etsy 2+ years and it has been a wonderful experience.

    Good Luck!

Oh, and name wise maybe you could be grace flowers or grace n flowers. It is a pretty name. You will figure it out.
